Business Development Project Manager
Summary
Responsible for the development and implementation of specific company
growth initiatives including identifying opportunities; researching and
analyzing business cases; test marketing and developing distributor,
customer and industry relationships to support new market development.
Manage the product portfolio for the products provided in new markets
including creating product line plans, assisting with new product
development and forecasting product sales. Serve as team leader, working
with other associates in marketing, sales, education, product development
and other departments as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Identify and produce new/additional revenues by developing new
customers within new markets.
· Develop strategic and operational business plans for new markets.
· Research, analyze, and develop proposals related to products,
competitors, pricing strategies, promotions, distribution channels and key
customers for new markets and segments.
· Develop and implement strategies for pursuing target markets and
coordinate market-specific events resulting in an established presence
within the market.
· Create product line plans and assist with the new product
development process.
· Lead the development of new industry relationships to help
accelerate growth.
· Develop short- and long-term forecasts for new markets.
· Identify leads, prospect for new customers and build relationships
with customers and partners in new markets.
· Recommend new and revised products as needed for new markets.
· Communicate customer priorities and perceptions to contribute to
message and marketing collateral development.
· Lead new business development team and monitor implementation of
plans.
· Drive development of database of customers and leads and keep up
to date with results of customer contacts and meetings.
· Participate in all areas of marketing where involvement is
necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None (except for project team leadership)
Qualifications:
Must have the ability to perform these functions and have at least 3+
years’ experience in these areas:
· Experience with developing new business opportunities, preferably
in commercial or industrial sector
· Strong ability to build relationships and good follow-through with
customers
· Experience leading and working collaboratively on teams
· Experience with researching new markets and analyzing customer and
market needs
· Have excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
· Have ability to multi-task and prioritize while working with
deadlines
· Intermediate to Advanced MS Word and MS PowerPoint skills required
· Knowledge of marketing principles
· Excellent customer service
Education and/or Experience: 4-year degree, 3+ years’ work experience
Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical skills: Basic-intermediate math skills
Reasoning ability: Ability to quickly learn processes and develop skills
required. Must be a self-starter.
